- The temperature in the home must be maintained in the normal occupancy range. Have
your HVAC system operating within this normal range for 72 hours (3 days) prior to and
then maintained after installation. Manufacturer warranties may be voided if the
normal temperature range is not maintained.
-
Furniture, appliances, accessories, and electronics/computers must be removed from
the work area. If you have contracted with us to move furniture at a charge to you, our
installers will move the larger items only. You are responsible for moving all small
objects, accessories, lamps, etc. Bookcases, china cabinets, and display cases must be emptied. Disconnecting and reconnecting all electronics/computers are the responsibility
of the homeowner. Bed linens must be removed from beds and closet floors must be
cleared. Some of the items installers cannot move include: aquariums, pool tables,
grand pianos, grandfather clocks, sleep number beds or specialty beds, entertainment
centers, and collectibles from walls. Pets must be secured and out of the work area.
-
The removal of existing floors and installation of new flooring will create some dust.
Precautions will be taken to minimize this, but be prepared to do some cleaning and
dusting after the work is complete.
-
In some instances, hidden damage to subfloors cannot be discovered until
existing floors or floor coverings are removed. Repair of damaged subfloors may
delay completion time and will be at an additional cost to you.
-
Due to our liability insurance, all toilet stools, pedestal sinks, icemaker water lines,
dishwashers, and other built-ins (if being moved) must be disconnected and reconnected
by a third party or the homeowner.
- Removal and resetting of baseboards, quarter rounds, and other types of trims will
probably be necessary. Our installers will remove and reset as carefully as possible, but
some touch up/re-painting may be necessary. This is the responsibility of the
homeowner.
-
The tile areas will be caulked at the time of installation. Re-caulking areas as needed is
considered a standard maintenance item and may be needed at some point in the
future. This is the responsibility of the homeowner.
-
There may be a slight grout haze present on the surface of the tile after the installation is
complete. This should be removed using water and a non-sudsy ammonia mix.
Cleaning and use of floor or other tile surfaces after installation:
- Do not walk on floor for 24 hours after completion of work.
- Do not clean, mop, or wet your tile floors for 7 days after completion of work.
- Do not use shower for 7 days after completion of work.
- Use a manufacturer approved cleaner and cleaning methods.
